Summer Dance and Movement Camps 2017!
A full day of dance, acrobatics, choreography, and/or theater, including crafts and a visit to nearby Balboa Park (weather permitting) for lunch and play time. Each week will focus on a different theme, such as ballet, theater, or contemporary dance. Pre care and after care will be available for all camps.
* Weeks 1-3, taught by Alyce Finwall, will be a full day of ballet, jazz, acro and choreography. Suggested ages, 4-12.
* Weeks 4 & 7, taught by Kristin Damrow, will be a full day of dance with the emphasis on contemporary movement including partnering and choreography. Alyce will teach ballet and acro. Suggested ages 8-15.
* Weeks 5 & 6, taught by the team of "First I Dream" (Anne Marie Ullman, Jeni Johnson and Laura Ricci), will be a full day focusing on character building through physical theater, clown and comedia del'arte exercises, improvisation, and working on heightened text such as Shakespeare and Moliere. Alyce will teach ballet and acro. Suggested ages 5-15.

July 31-August 4 Theater Focus with Dance and Acro (suggested ages, 5-15)
August 7-11 Contemporary Dance Focus with Acro and Choreography (suggested ages, 8-15)
Pre care and after care is available, $120/week for after care, $60/week for pre care, $24/day for after care, $12/day for pre care.
Alyce Finwall is the Director of Moving Arts Studio. She has over 20 years of experience performing professionally in New York, Washington DC, Minneapolis and San Francisco. She is a recognized choreographer and teaches dance to all levels, as well as acrobatics. Alyce is an American Ballet Theatre Certified Teacher and holds an MFA in Dance from Mills College. She is an adjunct professor of dance at Santa Rosa Junior College, and has guest taught at many colleges and pre-professional programs. She is the proud mother of two young girls who also love to dance and tumble around!
Anne Marie Ullman is a director, performer and teacher who recently moved back to her home town of San Francisco after having lived in Cambridge for five years. She has her BA from the UCLA School of Theater, Film and Television with an emphasis on theater directing, and a Masters in Arts in Education from Harvard. She is also a graduate of the Circus Center's Clown Conservatory. She specializes in physical theater and is currently building a non-profit, First I Dream, which emphasizes the female perspective.
Kristin Damrow grew up on a rural farm in Wisconsin, then lived in Chicago while earning her BA in Dance from Columbia College. Eager to continue her professional career, she moved to the Bary Area in 2010 and founded Kristin Damrow & Company. Her choreography has been seen at many residencies and festivals, including the Summer Performance Festival at ODC Theater and Dance Mission Theater's D.I.R.T. Festival. She has been commissioned for Carlmont High School's Annual Gala and the Stern Grove Festival. Kristin is the Artistic director of KDC and it's annual home seasons. Their next work, EAMES, will premiere at ODC Theater in January 2018. Kristin also serves on the faculty at ODC Dance Commons, Dance Mission Theater and City Dance. She is the director of Body Language, RoCo Dance's pre-professional teen company. She guest teaches at the University of San Francisco, Sonoma State University, City College, Shawl Anderson Dance Center and LINES Ballet.
Reservations and Payment
Reservations may be made online by selecting the week of camp or pre/after care option above; or by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org and making payment in person by check, cash, or credit card at the time of first drop off. If you are applying for a needs-based scholarship to attend one of our camps, click here to apply for consideration.
Promotional Discounts Policy: any promotional discounts are only eligible for full weeks of camp, through the online registration and payment process. They are not available for pre or after care. If you have a promotion code, you'll have the chance to enter it during checkout to have the discount applied. If you have seen a recent promotion and it's expired or shows no longer available, feel free to contact us, provide the code, and we may still be able to honor it depending on recency of the promotion and remaining availability.
*Please contact us if a class is full and you would like to be placed on the waitlist. We sometimes have spaces open up, and will do everything we can to enroll your child in your desired program times.

Through April 30: Parents receive a full refund minus a $25 fee per session cancelled.
May 1st to June 1: Parents receive a refund minus a cancellation fee of $95 per session.
After June 1: No refunds.
